WHAT IS A COMMISSION?
There’s been a spot that you’ve wanted filled on that wall for a while now. You know the size of the artwork, you need certain colours to match your decor but you just can’t find the right piece within your price range. Welcome Commission!
Besides handing you the brush, you are creating your own piece of art. You give us the brief, Karla creates your painting!
With larger scale murals, it’s a very similar process discussing size, budget and palette. Images of the site and digital mockups of the draft artwork are then shared with the client until an agreement is made for the final design.
CAN I PICK ANY SIZE?
Absolutely! Custom canvases can even be built according to the space you are wanting to fill. Karla will video call you and explain step-by-step how to decide what size will be the perfect fit. Or if you’re within reach of the Byron Shire, she will come to you.
Karla has completed murals indoors and outdoors and is able to provide you with information regarding materials, paints and their durability to support your final decision.
MY BUDGET IS SMALL. CAN I STILL COMMISSION?
Karla produces a range of works across a variety of sized canvases. She is not limited or restricted and nor are you when it comes to a commission. Karla also offers payment plans that allow the customer to pay off the piece while it’s being produced.
CAN I MAKE CHANGES ONCE IT’S STARTED?
Once Karla has contacted you and discussions such as colours and palettes have been agreed upon, a time frame will be given to you for completion. Changes to colours can be made during the work (not majorly but shades and tones) but size of the canvas is locked in upon beginning. Some clients like a photo of the work in progress, others prefer to wait for the grand reveal.
IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED?
Yes, a deposit of 25% of the total cost is required to cover canvas and materials. The balance is paid upon completion of the artwork.
